Hello!
I can’t believe we’re still having weather like the glorious sunshine this weekend. I feel like it’s a bit of a trade-off, really, for the planet being literally on fire, but I’m taking the small joy of an afternoon in the sun where I can.
I also gobbled up the whole of Alasdair Gray’s Poor Things this weekend after I picked it up on my little book spree last week. I started it before I went to bed, and then took it on the bus/tube/train the next day and back to bed. I had wanted to read it before the film comes out (before I realised that the film has been pushed back to December), and it was honestly just so much FUN. I can’t think of the last book I read that was such a ride. I really enjoyed it.
A gentle reminder: if you’re considering upgrading to a paid subscription, I’ve adjusted the tiers, and an annual subscription is now £2 a month. You should be able to trial it for a week before buying, and there’s also a monthly option, if you’d prefer!
