There are a few writers whose work I’ve read all - or almost all - of, but I want to do another little project like when I read every single one of Margaret Atwood’s novels over a summer a few years ago, and wrote about them all for The Chicago Review of Books.
One of my reading resolutions for this year is that I want to read fewer debuts, and I think maybe it would be nice to immerse myself in one writers’ world for a little while. It’s something I’ve not done for years now, and there are few things I love more than a reading list, so maybe I should just give myself an authors bibliography as a reading list and see how I get on.

Apart from Atwood, there aren’t many with as much of a volume of novels to get through, so I think it could work as a little summer Australian winter project. I think it only counts if a writer has more than… let’s say three. In recent-ish contemporary fic, I’ve read everything by Emily St John Mandel, Lauren Groff, Sally Rooney, Daisy Johnson, Kirsty Logan, Heather Parry, Camilla Grudova, Julia Armfield. Non-fic-wise, I’ve read all of Olivia Laing’s books, and I think Joan Didion’s. I’ve had a decent stab at reading all of Toni Morrison’s novels (I think I’m only missing a couple?) and I’ve read most of Angela Carter’s.
Send me your recs! Give me a project!
I was going to suggest Angela Carter but can see you have nearly finished. How about Rosamund Lehmann, Katherine Mansfield or Stella Gibbons?
Maybe someone old and dead? I was planning to do Dostoyevsky this year but then I discovered warhammer novels and all other reading has fallen away
