Spring is all about new beginnings, or something.
If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll know that I was weighing up ditching Discord and Tinyletter, and so here we are. If you were on the mailing list already, you’ll be on the mailing list here on Substack instead, and you hopefully won’t notice too much of a difference. If you’re joining from Discord, hit the subscribe button below to have emails pop into your inbox. You’ll also be able to read updates in the Substack app.
Why Substack?
The idea behind Discord was to build a bit more of a community for Cursive Knives, but Discord is… not very easy. Using Substack instead means that I can send out mailing list updates for when the next courses and workshops will run, but I can also send out prompts you can comment on, or posts you can share your writing on if you’d like to. Feedback from the zoom sessions seems to be that a community space would be nice, and (after some experimenting,) Substack seems to offer the best way to do it.
What’s coming up?
There’ll be a course in the summer - it’s likely to be June/July, and run for four weeks. And I *might* do another workshop before then.
I’m also going to be tinkering with Substack to see what we can do here - that might involve tiered subscriptions for monthly prompts, or a sharing/feedback space. If you have ideas for something you’d like, let me know!
I think that’s probably all for now!
